Xavier Mortimer’s Magical Journey

Xavier Mortimer’s path to magic stardom wasn’t a straight shot to Las Vegas.

Born in the South of France, he started as a street performer, crafting his skills in public squares before catching the eye of Cirque du Soleil. He was hired as a lead performer in Michael Jackson ONE at Mandalay Bay, which brought him to America.

After three years, he took a leap of faith and launched his solo magic show on the Las Vegas Strip.

And the gamble paid off—he became a five-time winner of Best Magic Show in Las Vegas (Las Vegas Review Journal). His success didn’t stop there; social media catapulted his career to new heights, making him one of the most-watched magicians online.

Xavier is excited to take his show beyond Vegas and share it with fans across North America:

“We decided to bring the show to the audience—people who don’t necessarily want to travel to Vegas just to see a magic show.” – Xavier Mortimer

Xavier performs his Mirror Act on the French TV show Plus Grand Cabaret du Monde.

Social Media Magic vs. Live Magic

Some magicians rely on camera tricks, but not Xavier. While some illusions are explicitly designed for social media, many of his most famous viral effects will be performed live on stage at his tour stops.

Fans can expect to see his flying shopping cart, gravity-defying jump rope levitation, and more mind-bending illusions.

“There’s gonna be a bunch of things that I do on social media that I also do live. The best ones make it to the stage.” – Xavier Mortimer

And audience participation is a big part of the show! Xavier won’t just be confined to the stage—he will perform illusions up close, right in the audience, creating a truly immersive experience.

Fooling Penn & Teller and Redefining Magic

Xavier has appeared three times on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, impressing the legendary magicians with his originality. On his third visit, he finally stumped them with a brilliant balloon illusion.

“After the show, Penn came backstage and said, ‘We have no idea how you did that!’” – Xavier Mortimer

Rather than traditional sleight-of-hand tricks, Xavier focuses on creating a magical world that feels like something out of a movie.

He asks himself, “What if magic was real?” and builds illusions from that concept.

His inspirations come from classic films, pantomime, and even ancient magic literature—giving his performances a unique, dreamlike quality.

First Time in Chicago & Kitchener

Despite performing worldwide, this will be Xavier’s first-ever performance in Chicago and Kitchener! And while he’s excited to see new cities, he’s also preparing for what he calls “sophisticated audiences” who truly appreciate great magic.

“My first magic show was built for theater. I grew up with storytelling, and I love bringing people into a magical world.” – Xavier Mortimer
