A Week of Magic, History, and Celebration
The Magic Castle in Hollywood is honoring Black History Month with a special week-long event from February 4 through February 9, 2025.
This unique celebration brings together eleven professional African American magicians from across the United States and Canada, performing in every showroom of the legendary private club.
Curated by Academy of Magical Arts board member and renowned magician Kenrick “Ice” McDonald, the event not only showcases world-class performances but also highlights the often-overlooked history of Black magicians in the industry.
McDonald is currently producing a documentary titled Hidden Shoulders, which delves into the contributions of Black magicians throughout history.

Fostering the Next Generation of Magicians
In addition to these extraordinary performances, The Magic Castle’s AMA Junior Society, an audition-based program for young magicians aged 13-21, is preparing the next generation of diverse talent in the art of magic.
With 83 members, the program provides mentorship and training for aspiring magicians of color, ensuring a bright future for inclusivity in the industry.
