Magician & Author Ian Adair Passes Away – A Legacy of Wonder and Inspiration
I just learned that Ian Adair has passed away, and like many magicians, I have several of his books on my shelf.
His contributions to magic—both as a performer and as a prolific creator—have shaped the art we love.

Sadly, Ian Adair passed away on January 14, 2025, at the age of 84.
His contributions to the world of magic, both through his performances and his extensive writing, have left a lasting impact on the field.
Magician and Author
From his time at Supreme Magic to his countless publications, Ian’s creative mind brought joy and wonder to magicians worldwide. His work, like Mind Blowing Mentalism and One Glass One Card One Box, inspired many of us to explore new ideas and elevate our performances.
Ian Adair was a prolific author in the field of magic, having written over 150 books and booklets on magic and allied arts.

A recent tribute from Funtime Magic highlighted how Ian’s creativity never stopped. They had marketed over 100 of his effects—more than any other magic supplier after Supreme Magic—and were in the process of releasing two more of his creations when the sad news of his passing arrived.
His influence on the magic community was vast, with countless unpublished ideas still waiting to be explored.
Ian’s legacy will live on in the routines we perform, the books we treasure, and the magic he left behind. Rest in peace, Ian. You will be missed.
