Known for his jaw-dropping escape acts and mind-bending object transformations, Harary and his team employ lasers, intricate props, and dynamic lighting to create visual effects that leave audiences questioning the very nature of reality.

In an interview with China Daily, Harary explained the psychology behind his craft:
“Everything you see, everything you understand, comes from information your senses provide. Your brain creates a reality based on that input. What I do is use psychology, engineering, and an understanding of life’s rhythm to manipulate those senses, creating a false reality that your brain interprets as magic.”
Harary’s work doesn’t claim to defy the laws of nature but instead offers a temporary suspension of disbelief—a chance to step into a world where the impossible feels real.
“We want to believe that the magic is real, to become like a child again,” he added.
Bringing Stadium-Scale Magic to an Intimate Setting
One of the biggest challenges for IMAGINE NATION was adapting Harary’s large-scale illusions, originally designed for stadiums, to fit a more intimate theater space.
This adjustment brings the magic closer to the audience than ever before, allowing them to witness the effects in unprecedented detail.
Harary expressed his excitement about bringing this experience to Hong Kong and hinted at a potential tour in mainland China.
“I have so many friends in China—all the way from Harbin to Sanya. I’m looking forward to it very, very much,” he shared.
A Career-Defining Show
IMAGINE NATION represents the pinnacle of Harary’s 40-year career, featuring his most celebrated illusions, including the appearance and disappearance of large objects and structures.
The show also boasts a collaboration with five of the world’s most renowned illusionists, making it a truly global event.
“This show is a collection of magic I’ve designed over the last 40 years. Now, Hong Kong audiences no longer have to travel halfway around the world to see it—they can experience it right here at the Wan Chai Harbourfront Event Space,” Harary said.
